Tudo bem?
It's here - Colorado Brazil Fest is happening four days coming up. Click and check the website for all the great events, workshops and performers. This is the centerpiece for our little Boulder Brazilian music community - we are in crazy multi-rehearsal zone and would love you to join us for the festivities!
I am concurrently very excited about the video already up on youtube of my Quintet - a sweet version of Sampa, the tip of the iceberg for a new CD of Brazilian stuff. Not an iceberg, it's a swinging collection of tunes, some live at Caffe Sole, some from the studio - and coming soon! If you have not already listened/watched (or even if you have!) go here to the new video edit now, I think you will agree:

THUR Aug 1, 8pm eTown Hall (1535 Spruce St, Boulder)
The doors open at 5 for some tasty Brazilian food with Daniel Ondaro in the lobby, moving into the concert hall for Alfredo Muro at 7pm. Mitchell Long is next, a real phemonon. Many remember Mitchell around here, his jazz and Brazilian brilliance with the very top local players in Boulder and Denver, as well as his amazing solo shows. Now based in L.A. Mitchell is currently guitarist with Melody Gardot, touring the world. We are super fortunate to have him "home" with us this week! Las but not least, Dexter Payne Quintet with Bill Kopper, Dave Willey, Raoul Rossiter with the addition of Victor Mestas Perez. It's all over by 9pm, and tickets are flying (click above)
FRI Aug 2,
7:30pm - Pearl Street Mall (Bldr)
Bateria Alegria performs samba percussion as a preview to Sat night, with dancers. We are 20-30 strong, well rehearsed and rocking. Dont miss it!
SUN Aug 4, Yes, Brazil Fest continues! Unfortunately I will be leaving early in the morning to play with Nokuthula at the Crestone Music Fest as part of a great bill. Road trip anyone?
Speaking of which... I gotta go! See you all week, I hope!
