Music and Meditation, and success!

Dear friends,

A very quick note to invite Boulderites to the first (hopefully of many):
Monday Music and Meditation, 7:30pm, Agora at the new Riverside. Donation suggested. (Broadway downtown, just north of Boulder Creek Bridge, "kitty-corner" to Alfalfa's.

I will be playing a duet with Kim Stone, and a collaboration with him plus John Marsh and Bob Schlessinger. Come help initiate the new space and enjoy contemplative music to get your  week off on the right foot!

Other notes -

The kickstarter campaign  "Save the Tank" made it's goal. Thanks to all who participated! You have until 10pm tonight to pitch in, and stretch goals have been listed, so join us!
Go to www.tanksounds.org to learn about the tank, and hear some recordings (including one of mine!)

The Lionel Young Band is in final mixing sage of our new CD. It will be mastered by Colin Bricker at MFP in Denver, and then it's off the the record companies - we will be shopping, so if you know a company that wants the newest thing in blues, let me know!

Meanwhile, the band is off Thursday to Colorado Belle, Laughllin NV for 15th Annual Blues & Brews with Chris Hiatt, John Earl, Shawn Jones and Buddy Guy, April 5,6,7. Time for a desert run? Stop by on your way down!

See you Monday?
Best.

Playback, Blues, and the Tank

Hi!

Seems I missed an important announcement or two this last week. By the way, had a lovely time at both Midday Music Meditation and the Dexter Payne Quartet at Caffe Sole - thanks to those who made it out there. It is so great to play for you!

Meanwhile TONIGHT, at the Dairy Center, I will have the privilege of accompanying Playback Theater West, an exceptional group of people who take stories from the audience... and play them back. And I get to provide the sound track! We never know what is going to happen - sometimes hilarious, sometimes very moving. Reserve tickets - they go fast!

On Thursday, a special treat - I will play a blues duet with Lionel Young at Amaro Drinkery (Arugula Restaurant in N Boulder). New venue for intimate live music!

And, very urgently, I want to let you know about a campaign to save The Tank, an amazingly reverberant sound structure in Western Colorado. We are raising $42,000 to preserve the Tank so many more musicians can have the kind of amazing experience that I had there.

Here is the link to the Kickstarter campaign. Check it out, and by all means, support this worthy effort!

All together now

Hi friends,

Why does everything all happen at once? Doesn't really matter, we all know it does. At least we have daylight savings to help out this week. Will be great to see all my friends -  all over Boulder!

Don't get me wrong - I am happy about every little thing. I confess I am not very good about keeping up with it all on weeks when I don't have gigs. Time seems slippery without external organization. And yes, I do kind of like it that way…

I have not been entirely idle - Lionel Young Band CD is getting mixed song by song - going to be a good one! And the Dexter Payne Quartet CD is not far behind. Turn, turn turn...

So here we go - Music Meditation, KGNU Musica Mundi, Quartet time at Caffe Sole, Playback Theater West. Nothing but good times, real joy - come out in the late winter, such as it is, and let it all cut loose! I am honored to be invited to sit with one of our most awesome DJs, EC Erb, for Musica Mundi on pledge week at KGNU. Show the radio some love, y'all! And we have the special treat of Victor Mestas at Caffe Sole Thurs - an amazing pianist we thoroughly enjoy, recently relocated from Caracas. You will too!

See you all week!
