Saturday night!

Dear friends,

I have been slow at communicating. Blame it on the flood, though I am one of the lucky ones who still have a home, high and dry. Be that as it may, I am letting you know at the last minute -

I will be at Caffe Sole Saturday, Sept 28 (thats today!) playing with Nokuthula, marimba and mbira-based group: Andre Mallinger, John Leventhal, Barb Kulton, Karna Knapp, Matt Tucker. Playing music rooted in Zimbabwe and South Africa, it's bound to be a fun night of dancing and listening in the best club in town.

SAT  Sept 28  8-11pm  Caffe Sole (Table Mesa Center, Bldr)Nokuthula    www.nokuthula.net

More to come - I promise to catch up on news and all the great gigs on the calendar... soon!

See you there,
Dexter

2nd Wed & Thur

Dear friends,

Just finished an amazing week of great musical experience with wonderful friends and I feel so busy preparing for the coming weeks adventures that i am not sure there is really time for sleep and other details. Familiar feelings, almost perpetual, that make me realize I'm a lucky so-and-so. I feel most blessed when dear friends come to share music that gives me such joy - thank you!

This week is special. Midday Music Meditation is a wonderful opportunity for us to gather and do (almost) nothing together. Commemorate the day with us, without a word - we could use a lot fewer words and  more nothing these days!

And when it rains... Yes, Second Thursday is here! Dexter Payne Quartet is in a growth phase with new tunes in the mix, and a new CD of classics almost done. A dear friend and supporter has informed me that this week's gig will be the site of a Brazilian birthday party, so don't miss out!

WED  Sept 11, noon-1pm   Boulder Library Canyon Aud (9th&Canyon, Bldr)
MidDay Music Meditation

THUR  Sept 12, 8-11pm Caffe Sole (Table Mesa Shopping Ctr, Bldr)

Sing a song of Peace

As we go about our idyllic lives of peace and plenty, think about those (maybe not so far away) who are not in such a happy state. Imagine them looking up to the sky and seeing gentle, peaceful rain. Nothing more, nothing less.

SAT  Sept 7,  7pm Broadway Music School (1940 S Broadway, Den)

I will be hanging out with my dear friends in Sherefe at the Greek Festival Sept 6th (7-10pm) & 8th  (noon til ?) You should too! Sets alternate with dance exhibitions and the food is great.
