Salem rides, St Julien SAT and jazz in Missoula!

The music never stops - Last weeks house concert with Beco Do Choro was one of the best - such a wonderful audience and great hosts. The public debut of the Boulder Bateria was a blast at the CU International Fair, a sweet event in its own right. And in between - the Conference on World Affairs. "The hills are alive!" Some busy days ahead, so pull the beans out of your ears and get ready!

WED Apr 15 - Celebrate this favorite date with Pato Banton, Salem & Konrad Steffen at the Fox Theater (13th St & College, Bldr) Hip-hop, reggae, jazz, latin, funk and glacial awareness – all at once! Konrad - 8:45, Salem 9:00, Pato 10:15

FRI Apr 17th - 9pm, Salem in Alma @ the Bistro - always a great dance party!

SAT Apr 18th - 3pm, Salem opens for Keller Williams at the Breckenridge Spring Massive.

SAT Apr 18th - 6:30-9:30pm @ the St Julien Hotel (Walnut & 9th, Bldr). Dexter, Bill Koppoer and Raoul Rossiter will play Brazilian choros & sambas. Come down and show the hotel it doesnt take a big loud band to rock the joint.

WED & THUR Apr 22 - Jazzoula, (Missoula, MT) Honoring/featuring Buddy DeFranco. Playing with Dave Horgan, Beth Lo, Don Maus, Richard Ostheimer and...

Dont hold your breath, the fun has already begun. Hope to see you at one of these events!

Its a Whole New Year

Starting mellow, as far as gigs go...
But Im quite busy - mailing out CD orders and getting ready for my class at Naropa. Thats right, just call me professor, well, instructor, actually, of Afropop Ensemble. Its gonna be a great band - I can feel it!

And Ive had some great times sitting in with friends: the Corvettes, Boulder Acoustic Society, Os Malandros. Im the lucky guy! Meanwhile, stirring it up for the new season:

FRI Jan 9, 9pm @ Appaloosa Grill. 535 16th St. (16th&Welton, Denver) 720-932-1700
Todd Johnsons SALEM (www.salem-music.com)
wi Dave Devine on guitar

Come on out for some righteous funky original stuff.

Did I say CDs? Judy Roderick & the Forbears wi Dr John WHEN IM GONE is getting some great airplay, like WWOZ, New Orleans! Big thanks to Washboard Chaz, now of "playingforchange.com" fame. And my latest: OUR TIME to REMEMBER CD with Thiago de Mello - right here at home on KUVO! Check em BOTH out!
Til then,
Dexter
